The common faults of universal joint bearing are mainly the wear of journal and bearing and the bending deformation of each journal, resulting in that the center lines of each axis of its cross shaft are not in the same plane or the center lines of two adjacent axes are not vertical. Due to the excessive wear clearance between the journal and bearing of the universal joint cross shaft, the cross shaft shakes during operation, which makes the center line of the transmission shaft deviate from its rotation center line, resulting in vibration and abnormal sound of the transmission shaft during operation.
The wear of cardan spider journal and bearing shall not exceed 0.02 ~ 0.13MM from the point of view of use, and generally remain at about 0.01mm. If it exceeds 0.13MM, the transmission shaft will vibrate and make noise. The wear is mainly caused by lack of lubrication, so regular maintenance is very important. In normal maintenance, grease should be added frequently to prevent the wear of cross shaft journal and bearing caused by lack of grease.
